The report

An important match was scheduled today. A win was necessary to keep the prospect of finishing in the first eight. This is because we would then enter the champions league.

For the first 15 minutes the match went evenly, both PSV and Vitesse had small chances to open the scoring. But then Vitesse dropped back to their own half and left the game to PSV. After 23 minutes PSV got a free kick from the left. Nigel Thomas passed the ball to Yorben Vertessen, who made it 1-0. Shortly after, PSV had another chance to score 2-0, but a shot ended up in the goalkeeper's hands.

The second half did not start as we had hoped and in the 43 minute Vitesse came alongside. PSV went down a bit and Vitesse was able to take the game. We were not as sharp at that point, but then PSV took control again and we had chances to get back into the lead. In the 73 minute a nice attack on the right followed. Nigel Thomas crossed to Yorben Vertessen, who tapped in the 2-1. From then on Vitesse tried to force the equalizer, but in injury time PSV scored the 3-1. Sekou Sidibe had a great action on the left and crossed to Jeremy Antonissen, who determined the final score.
