    The report

On Wednesday afternoon, PSV O13 played a catch-up league match against Feyenoord O13. Feyenoord are leaders in the league so it will be a nice challenge for PSV to show what they are capable of. After a very good first half from the PSV side it became more of a fighting game in the second half. The points were shared fraternally.

After a good start by PSV, which did not give Feyenoord an inch of space, they hit the target in the eighth minute. It is Renzo Tytens who after a rush along the sideline manages to get the ball well in front of the goal, at first the ball is blocked by the defense of the Rotterdammers. But the ball comes back to Renzo who knows how to find Michon Roelofs blindfolded, Michon stays cool and works the ball neatly behind the goalkeeper, 1-0. PSV does not back down after this opening goal, but continues to play full on the attack. Within a minute there is another great chance for Emmanuel Hagemans, who appears only in front of the goalkeeper. But unfortunately the ball goes just wide. Renzo also misses a great opportunity after a good cross from Emir Bars, the ball goes past the goal. PSV continues to play bright, aggressive and good football and has the opponent completely under control. Yet it is Feyenoord that manages to score, from a free kick a Feyenoord player manages to head the ball in. Now it is 1-1 at halftime, while given the odds PSV would have deserved a lead.

Coach Tim Wolf expects a different Feyenoord after halftime and he is right. Trainer Gaston Taument has changed his team in several positions and Feyenoord will play brighter in the second half. As a result, PSV can no longer play the game of the first half and have to go with the flow. The game waves up and down at a high pace. In the 40th minute, PSV goes on the attack again, the ball is given deep through the side, everyone thinks it is offside, including Feyenoord's linesman. Only the referee sees it differently and lets the ball pass. Emir then passes the ball to Tim van de Heuvel, who scores in a controlled manner: 2-1. With PSV having taken the lead, Feyenoord started to push even harder and created some great chances, but PSV goalkeeper Tijn Smolenaars was always in the right place. Still, Feyenoord managed to score in the 59th minute. A cross was not dealt with properly by the PSV defense, and a Feyenoord attacker was able to take advantage of this to score and put an equalizer on the scoreboard: 2-2. No more goals are scored in extra time.

All in all a good match for PSV O13, although given the first half there could have been more in it. But with the football and character they showed they can look forward to the rest of the league with confidence. Saturday is the next league match. Willem II will be our guest at 11:00 am.
