    The Report

After being the list leader all season, today the championship could be won by PSV O13. In "De Koel" in Venlo, VVV was the opponent, so they know what it is like to become champion. Before the winter break it seemed like a runaway race with a lead of 12 points, after the break it sometimes went a little harder. The boys had a busy schedule, so fatigue was there at times. And O14 needed players at times, so we gladly helped them out. Opponents adjusted, the pressure to become champions increased more and more. But despite everything, trainer Tim Wolf and his group continued to believe in it. And today, just one more point and then it was done: CHAMPIONS.

In the beginning of the match it was immediately visible that VVV was going to play very grouped in order to prevent PSV's passage. So it was up to PSV to play VVV "to pieces", said Tim Wolf. The first ten minutes it was still a close game and VVV could keep up. The first big chance is for Jesper Uneken, who shoots the ball over after a cross from Chahid el Allachi. In the 11th minute the opening goal came. From a corner Sven Simons hits the ball hard against the ropes: 0-1. Two minutes later it is the same Simons who takes a free kick 20 meters in front of the goal. Since they all flew in yesterday at training, the bench expects that it will go in as well. But alas, a few centimeters over. PSV is lord and master on the pitch and goes in search of a second goal, but it has to wait until the 25th minute. Now it is Jesper Uneken who works the ball in after he received the ball from Milan Govaers. With this halftime score, the team heads to the locker room for hot tea.

In the 33rd minute, Ruben van Bommel is sent into the depth, at full speed he brings the ball low in front of the goal. It is a minor trick for Jaivy Lourens to work the ball in 0-3. PSV dominates the match. After several missed chances, Shi-Jon Martina scored after Jaivy delivered a good cross: 0-4. This is also the final score. The party can begin. The championship is within reach. The boys celebrated together with their parents on the field and continued with a shower in the locker room.

But they are not there yet they say themselves. Next week on Tuesday evening at "De Herdgang" Sparta Rotterdam will visit for the semi-final of the cup tournament. Again they want to make it to the cup final. And the O13 competition is divided into 2 leagues. A northern and a southern one. The 2 champions will decide together who can call themselves champion of the Netherlands. AZ or Ajax are the leaders in the other leagues. So one of these two will be the opponent. So the group has challenges enough. But for now, congratulations.
