  1. Match report

A sunlit de Herdgang, full stands and an opponent who, if they win, will be champion of the Netherlands. And who would not want to become champion at the Herdgang. But we want to put a stop to that. Becoming champion is okay, but not at the Herdgang. So we're going to sit up and take notice. And the spectators get value for money. A match full of tension and a good game of football. We are aggressive and this gives us the first and best chances in the first half. After twenty minutes it is Sam who allows Martijn to open the score. Within a minute Sam can increase the score but he misses. Ajax bites off and after half an hour Muric can shoot in the equalizer. Then it is Yanick's turn to save us from falling behind with a great reflex. So just before half time we get the chance to go into the break with a lead through Kenneth after a brilliant ball from Sam.
After the break we want to keep going. And how. In the first fifteen minutes of the second half we were stronger than Ajax and we could have made it 4 or 5-1. But the sharpness is still lacking. After exactly one hour there is a quick attack through the middle and Ramon gives a great pass to Martijn who scores his second and the score is finally 3-1. Ajax now has to come and they do get a chance but Yanick is again at his post. Martijn gets another good chance but unfortunately cannot finish it off. In the last minute Ajax scored 3-2 through a goal by van Beek. But we hit back immediately and again from a pass from Sam it is Boris who puts the 4-2 on the scoreboard.
A deserved and justified victory that certainly could or maybe should have been higher. We are better and more aggressive than Ajax. There is nothing to show that they could have become champions today. And they won't be, at least not today. The flowers stay in the bus back to Amsterdam, the dinner on the way back is cancelled. Next week they will go for another chance at the Toekomst against NEC.
We go to Rotterdam on Thursday for the last game of the season against Feyenoord. Then the third spot is at stake for us. With today's football this should certainly be achievable. Men a top match today. The crowd goes home grateful and satisfied. Now a free weekend and a nice Liberation Day.
    See you on Thursday.
    See you.
