  1. Match report

It is always spring in the eyes of the ......... , but now it was just summer weather. Plenty of sunshine, nice turf (where would they like to see that?) and lots of spectators. And then today against Vitesse who could still use some points in the fight against the bottom place. We started quite nicely and the first quick attacks over the wings came towards the Vitesse goal. Already after six minutes our tall (Rinke) managed to chase the ball that was extended by Anthony into the ropes. And the clock was ticking because another six minutes later it was Rinke again who took a pass from Memphis and slammed it into the far corner (he let the ball bounce just in front of the goalie). And yes, another six minutes later Memphis scored the 0 - 3 via a handball with Jurgen. The bench and coach sat back to enjoy the sunshine. This was one of those days that a high score was in the offing. But it stopped. Vitesse came back and in the 20th minute they hit the cross and the balls that didn't hit the cross were all for Nigel. In the 30th minute a free kick by Okan was too much for the Vitesse goalkeeper but the ball rebounded by Jurgen was cleared off the line. In the 32nd minute the referee sent Vitesse's number 8 in with a red card. From that moment on it was no longer a real (if any) match. After the break we dutifully played the game out and only Anthony scored the 0-4 in the 51st minute (yes, you read that correctly, again after six minutes in the second half) after a pass from Memphis.
That was all and we went back to Eindhoven with a nice 4 - 0 victory. The other results in our league moved us up to third place.
Next Tuesday the next job awaits us, AZ at 16:00. So to hold on to third place we will have to take points there as well. Have a good weekend and see you on Tuesday.

Heard on the bus: A letter carrier throws a letter on the bus..............asked the bus driver, why did you do that?
