    ADO lulls PSV to sleep

ADO Den Haag took full advantage Saturday of the sleepy impression PSV made especially in the first half. Whether it was because of the early start -when the team gathered at De Herdgang it was still pitch dark- or the prospect of a couple of free days of carnival, PSV never really got going against a motivated ADO that also managed to score at the right moments.

Coached by occasional head coach Theo, who successfully passed his UEFA A coaching exam (congratulations coach!), PSV started uninspired. ADO had a great chance to take the lead after just 10 minutes of play, when the central striker headed a cross just wide of Rick's goal on the right. The same Rick misjudged a free kick 10 minutes later, when the ball was put in from well outside the penalty area, causing him to miss the ball, which was headed into the empty goal by an ADO player, 1-0. It was only on the stroke of half-time that PSV could counter that with a real serious opportunity, when Dylan volleyed the ball into the Hague goal in a messy situation but saw his effort hit the post.

The second half saw PSV loosen up a bit and create some good opportunities. ADO, which was only flagged twice for offside by the substitute referee Samir, showed the team's intentions well enough. However, ADO failed badly in the 21st minute when the excellent referee ruled that a clear handball in the penalty area was not intentional and waved away the Eindhoven players' claim for a penalty. In addition, the team came away well when again Dylan missed a great chance for the equalizer. In the 63rd minute, Ilyas served him with a distant cross that he was completely free to head the ball in at the2nd post, but completely missed in an attempt to work it in from the bottom. The equalizer did not materialize and although Jasper hit the post in the last minute, ADO countered in the 78th minute to make it 2-0.
