  1. Match report

    Location: Varkenoord
In a busy week with a trip to Turkey, delays at the airport, missing a plane, walking in an airport, warm temperatures, not to mention crying children in a seat next to and behind you, and to top it all off, you have to go to Rotterdam on your return to face the No. 2 team in the league. But our coach has been in tougher situations. Only today he had some trouble with the temperature on the bench.
After the pep talk beforehand, we started the game with concentration. We want to pin Feijenoord down right away. And lo and behold in minute six Mo takes a corner and then of course Albian is the first to work the ball into the goal and we have the dreamed of a quick lead. Feijenoord obviously don't want to give up so quickly and a few minutes later an inattention in the backline causes the ball to end up in Jesse's hands via the post. So it remains 0 - 1. The game goes up and down and both teams show that they want to win and take home the points. But both goalkeepers don't back down. It's a game that keeps the crowd interested.
After the break we are fierce again and again it is Albian who almost scores the second goal. Feijenoord keeps pressing and we try to work the counter well.
With just under ten minutes to go, MO passes a cross to Antonio and he takes the ball well and scores the 0 - 2 in a controlled way. Unfortunately Mo has to leave the field right after that with cramp but he has more than done his part in this match. A few minutes later it was Maria, another substitute, who managed to shoot the ball into the empty goal after a good push by Alexander and thus brought the final score to 0 - 3.
A nice and clear and certainly deserved victory over Feijenoord and so we have first place a little more firmly in our hands again. In this form we can go far.
Next week AZ comes to visit and we have to be there again. Good luck.
