Match report:
A game out or at home against NAC Breda is traditionally always tricky. Earlier in the season, PSV won with difficulty with only 1-0 from NAC. Today NAC also played frankly and freely with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment. NAC almost interfered on the edge of the 16-meter line in PSV's half. To use a field hockey term, this "forechecking" brought NAC success. Indeed, NAC took the lead fairly early in the match after a cleverly taken corner kick.
It was only after this deficit that PSV awoke. PSV took control, created chances (including a shot on the crossbar) and just before halftime produced the deserved equalizer.
After halftime, PSV played very strongly from a different perspective. PSV played with passion, speed and power. PSV even hit the post twice. And despite the fact that NAC still had one big chance in the second half (from a counter), PSV dictated the rest of the game and NAC was completely overrun at times. The result was an unflattering 4-1 victory. And to top it off, we also heard that direct rival Willem II had lost at Oranje Wit. Just like NAC did a week earlier against this amateur club from Dordrecht.
