  1. Match report

Winter seems to be making its appearance in the country, Santa Claus is also already in the country and it's the dark days before Christmas..... All things that have little or nothing to do with football. But that does provide another intro for once.

This weekend the C1 played its first return game in the competition. JVOZ away from home was the first league game, and there the team already lost their first points by playing 0 - 0. Something had to be put right.

PSV started the game well and could have opened the score 3 times in the first 3 minutes! Completely according to the match pattern, the team of trainers Edwin de Wijs and Joonas Kolkka quickly scored the opening goal. In the 7th minute it was Dante Rigo who placed a free kick beautifully to the run-in Jaëll Hattu who put the 1-0 on the scoreboard. PSV created plenty of chances and opportunities. Without playing great themselves. But some players did not have their sights set straight, or the final pass was just not right, or luck was just missing. Nevertheless, the score before halftime was 3-0 with relative ease. First it was Karim Bannani who scored in the 19th minute after a pass inside from Jaëll against his old teammates. And not much later, after pressure from Joey Konings, a Zeeuse defender just handed the ball to Matthias Verreth who scored simply. A gift from JOVZ, completely in the spirit of the time of year....

In the 2nd half, the Eindhoven team continued where it left off. One chance/possibility after another was created. While at the back nothing was given away. And soon the fourth goal came on the board when Dante slalomed through the Zeeland defense like a footballing Alberto Tomba and then not selfishly scoring himself, but giving Jaëll the chance to score his second goal of the day. Not much later, Dante was the einstation of a nice, smooth attack over several drives. But unfortunately he slid the ball wide. It turned out to be a reprieve, because not much later Matthias scored the 5-0 after an assist from Jaëll. Fifteen minutes before time, Matthias put the final score on the board after an assist from Dante: 6-0.

On the bench we had counted the chances today. In the first half the counter stopped at 13. In the second half at 8. In both halves we scored 3 times. Conclusion of the day: in the second half, PSV was more effective. You don't need to be a scholar a la Diederik Stapel to do that....

A more than deserved victory where in fact the result should have been higher. Goalkeeper Mike van de Meulenhof got one shot on goal this afternoon, a couple of tackles and wasn't too hot, especially when the meager sunshine soon disappeared.

And so the intro tóanything to do with today's game.
