  1. Match report

For the shock of Eindhoven ( FC versus PSV ) coach Colin could dispose of the entire group of players. Blue-white striped against Red-white striped.
With a fierce start from the home team, FC wanted to show that they were certainly not afraid to take on "the big PSV".
And that pressure resulted in a goal after only 3 minutes. The match could not have started any better for FC Eindhoven.
Both in front, in the middle and at the back the PSV boys were still looking for their place, but FC really didn't need that, they already knew their way around.
Pass centrally through the middle over the last defender, Stan still coming out well, but seeing the ball fly over him with a nice curve. 1-0.
The match started a bit like in previous weeks, with a quick goal from the opposing team.
FC with no-nonsense football, fighting for every square inch, and PSV watching too much and playing too little.
PSV's answer comes after 8 minutes, action by Roland in the middle, with a nice cross to Jordan, but Jordan is unjustly whistled back for offside.
But the balance recovers and also our boys have now found their place.
After 10 minutes, PSV almost gets the lid on the nose, again with a good depth pass to the striker, but now the striker decides wide.
The FC goalkeeper has not felt a ball until then. Surely this makes the PSV supporters a little nervous.
Stan has to come well out of his goal a few more times ( with spontaneous applause from the stands ) to defuse those dangerous deep passes. He does that perfectly.
The defenders Lars, Armando, Baggio, Luc and Björn are constantly being tested, but even they are not prone to errors.
When we do get out, Robin and Huseyin's shots are blocked.
After 22 minutes we were able to cheer, if only briefly. A shot from Robin splashes the post and rolls across the goal line but comes back out of the goal.
Too bad, there was more in this. But in the same phase the ball comes again to Robin, the cannon is now perfectly adjusted, and now the FC goalkeeper is up for the effort.
Delicious bang from our "Robinho". 1-1.
FC Eindhoven does not know what arrows are made of and that is the signal for Speedy Bosma to unleash his devils, unstoppable on the flank.
Should there be speed cameras, he would know what it was going to cost.
But FC did not give up, and a well-taken corner kick was missed by all. If only someone could get their foot in there.... you could hear the FC coach think.
Just before halftime Cody gets another chance, with a free kick, but this shot also goes wide.

    We rested at 1-1.

In the beginning of the second half, both teams seem to be satisfied with a draw already, and this match really smells like an end-of-season match.
If it does become dangerous, there is still our defense, led by a very strong playing Lars dickens. He reigns as it were.
Lars then also gives a good pass to Huseyin, who serves Raphael, but his shot lands in the arms of the goalkeeper.
A free kick in the closing seconds for FC Eindhoven, just outside the sixteen, but the ball splashes on the crossbar of Arne's goal. We liked to see it happen.
After this exciting phase, the referee ends the match.
Because of this, the battle for Eindhoven, in this case, remains undecided.

    1-1 is the final score.

With this result, the ranking in the series is also known, PSV ends on a shared third place together with VVV Venlo.
RODA JC and MVV still have to decide who will walk away with the main prize.
We sometimes forget it (at least I do) but our boys are in a series with all BVO teams, all a year older, but still in third place.
    In itself a great performance.
Congratulations to trainer Colin and the whole coaching staff, as well as to the main players, the sixteen guys of the D3.

Let's end the season in beauty with some more titles and cups in the next tournaments to come. Good luck to all!
