The Report
In the 21st round of play, PSV O15 had the away match against FC Twente on the schedule. A match between the numbers two of the standings: PSV the number two from the top, FC Twente from the bottom. Earlier this season PSV won easily in Eindhoven, with a big 5-0 victory. Ahead of the topper against Ajax, it is important not to lose points on Twente soil.
From the first whistle, PSV had the ball. However, it struggled to create any clear-cut chances. In the first half, there were 'only' a few distance shots that did not have the right direction. Just before halftime Jayden Braaf scored from a rebound, but the goal was disallowed for alleged offside. Moments later the FC Twente goalkeeper saved expertly on a shot by the same Jayden.
In the second half, the same pattern of play prevailed: PSV had the ball, but could not find the key that should lead to scoring and thus success. No real chances were created and because the same applied to the home team, the match ended disappointingly 0-0.
PSV thus lost expensive points in the pursuit of Ajax. Especially in view of the next game, Ajax away, a sour observation.
