Already within a few minutes of play at De Graafschap's cold, windy sports complex, De Bezelhorst, PSV was facing a deficit. Striker Luuk de Jong had brought the home team to a 1-0 lead. Via an easily awarded penalty kick, taken by Lars Hutten, PSV equalized. In the second half it was substitute Nasser El Khayati who gave PSV the lead. The goalscorer was shown his second yellow card for an alleged midfield foul, as he was tackled by his opponent, and was allowed to leave the pitch. In the last minute of injury time, the referee gave De Graafschap a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet initially stopped the ball, but Luuk de Jong reacted most attentively, ending the afternoon in a disappointment. PSV remains in eighth place as a result of the point.
