Eran Zahavi scored his first hat-trick in PSV's red and white against Galatasaray SK. The striker can look back on a good match: "We took a big step forward."

Perfect night
According to the striker, it wasn't a perfect night, but it was almost: "Only with a clean sheet would it really have been perfect. But we showed good team spirit." In particular, the Israeli praised his teammates and the development the team has undergone. "Last season was a special season. Many players joined later, including me. Now we also have some new guys, but the connection looks good, there is a good spirit in the team. But this is only the first game of the season. There are still a lot of games to play."

European goals
With his three goals, Zahavi has now scored seven times in the last three European games. A nice margin for the striker: "Scoring goals is always nice, but I'm here to win championships. Goals of the team are more important than my personal goals. On the field I try to give everything and always do what I can." Next week the return already awaits in Istanbul, but Zahavi is not letting the first game of the two-game series go to his head: "Tonight we are going to celebrate but tomorrow we are going to prepare for the next game, then we have to move on again."
