For the first time in the preparation, PSV entered a practice match. Head coach Peter Bosz, a mix of talents and selection players, lost to Belgium's RSC Anderlecht.

Despite the absence of five internationals, PSV started with names from the first team in the starting lineup. In addition, youth players Matteo Dams, Fabian Marién, Jevon Simons and Manuel Bahaty also made their appearance in the starting lineup. Bahaty started with a rock-solid cross from the left flank towards Luuk de Jong, who shielded the ball well and played it back to Jevon Simons. However, the ball goes just wide. Then it is RSC Anderlecht that sets the tone with the first goal of the match. On the right side the game is wide open and the Belgians take advantage of this. PSV looks for space by passing around at the back, but so far RSC Anderlecht keeps it well shut. The halftime signal sounds.

The second half has only just begun when RSC Anderlecht is awarded a penalty kick. Joël Drommel stopped the ball at first, but via the rebound the ball went in after all: 0-2. Moments later, Saibari gets a great chance, but the goalkeeper on the Belgian side stops him. PSV tries to get a better grip on the game by putting high pressure. This leads to a great chance with Babadi, who shoots the ball into the far left corner, but he just swerves off. The Belgians put on through high pressure, forcing the third goal. PSV tried some more in the closing stages, but the final score already appeared to be decided: 0-3.
