The word Coolsingel may have come up more often in recent months than "the election. Opponent Feyenoord can deal a blow to PSV on Sunday if they manage to win the topper. The question is how the Rotterdammers will react if they suffer defeat.
On top from day 1
Feyenoord has been at the top of the Eredivisie from the first round of play. 2016-2017 is a season that is largely dominated by the 14-time national champion for now. The Rotterdammers have scored the most goals, the fewest goals against and lead the dance in the Eredivisie. Ajax follows on 5 points, PSV on 8.
Series
A win will put Feyenoord behind PSV by 11 points. If the Rotterdammers lose, however, the battle for the title will be wide open again. PSV will have to put an end to a number of remarkable series for the Rotterdammers. For the first time since 2002-2003, Feyenoord can record 10 league wins in a row. Feyenoord are also the only team without a goal against this year.
Eyes on Jørgensen
PSV will also meet Sunday's currently most valuable player in the Eredivisie. Striker Nicolai Jørgensen is top scorer in the Eredivisie with 15 goals. In total, he was directly involved in 23 of the 59 Feyenoord goals. 7 more than any other player in the Eredivisie. PSV should therefore watch out for the 26-year-old Dane, who transferred from FC Copenhagen last summer.
