PSV travels to Overijssel on Saturday with a fit selection for the league match with PEC Zwolle. The city where Phillip Cocu and selection celebrated the 23rd national championship last year. Phillip Cocu looks ahead. "Hopefully we can take the feeling of May 8 to this match."
'We need to have a better day than against AZ'
After consecutive wins over FC Utrecht (2-1) and AZ (1-0), Phillip Cocu hopes PSV will also be spared point loss against PEC Zwolle on Saturday. According to the coach, despite the Zwolle side's poorer start to the season, that will not be an easy task. "Zwolle has again managed to put together a strong selection in a clever way. It is a very talented team with a lot of footballing ability. The poorer start to the season does nothing to change that. We need to have a better day than last Sunday against AZ to win there."
May 8
With PEC - PSV, thoughts naturally quickly return to last season's miraculous denouement, when PSV took the national title in Zwolle at the expense of Ajax. "That lives with us too, yes," Cocu admitted. "It was a special day. Let's take the feeling from then to this match."
Ramselaar
Cocu did not discuss possible incoming transfers Friday afternoon. He did, however, express satisfaction with acquisition Bart Ramselaar, who was presented on Thursday and trained again on Friday. "We did our best to bring him to PSV, so of course I am satisfied with him. He showed last year to be a more than talented player. Bart has a lot of footballing ability, he is still very young, he is a Dutch boy and he thinks well about his career. That fits very well with our vision and our way of working."
